Buçuklarda half ifadesi,

Çeyreklerde quarter ifadesi, kullanýlmaktadýr.

Geçe demek için past,

Kala demek için to ifadesini kullanýrýz.

00:00 ile 11:59 arasý am,

12:00 ile 23:59 arasý pm olarak gösterilir.

Öyleyse;

• What is the time?
• Saat kaç ?

• It’s half past eleven.
• Saat onbir buçuk.



Dijital saatler de genel olarak yazýldýðý gibi okunur. Yani eðer ekranda 15:38 yazýyorsa
çoðu zaman 15’i 38 geçiyor denir. Çok nadiren 16’ya 24 var denir.

Ancak klasik olarak tabir edilen akrep ve yelkovan içeren saatlerde ise durum tam tersidir.
Kala ibaresi bu saatlerde sýklýkla kullanýlýr. Nasýl olursa olsun Ingilizce iki þekilde de saati
